Christian-themed Easter ideas

Here are some Christian-themed Easter treats, books, activities and crafts for children:

1. Resurrection Rolls: These treats are a fun and delicious way to tell the story of Jesus' resurrection. They are made with crescent rolls and marshmallows, which represent Jesus' body. When the rolls are baked, the marshmallows disappear, just like Jesus' body did when he rose from the dead. You’ll have an empty “tomb!”

2. Jelly bean prayer: Use different color jelly beans to lead kids to prayer and thankfulness. Here’s an example of the variations you can use: (photo credit: church house collection)

3. Cross Crafts: Provide kids with materials such as popsicle sticks, glue, and paint to make their own crosses. You could also have them decorate pre-made wooden crosses or print out cross templates for them to color.

4. Read books with the Easter story. There are so many great books such as this bestseller for older kids ages 6-12. There’s also this highly rated Berenstain Bears book that includes stickers. Or this lift the flap book to keep younger children engaged.

5. Resurrection Eggs: These plastic Easter eggs contain small items that represent different parts of the Easter story, such as a small piece of cloth for Jesus' burial shroud or a mini rock to represent the stone rolled away from the tomb. You could create your own set or get them here

I hope these ideas help you plan some fun Christian-themed Easter activities for kids!
